Variations in Gavotte de Grenoble (de L’Aven)

Description for organizers

During this workshop we’ll look at the traditional Gavotte de L’Aven and how this is different from the current Gavotte de Grenoble danced in Balfolk. We’ll use elements from the Gavotte de L’Aven to create variations in the Gavotte de Grenoble. We will cover different tools you can use to vary in the dance like for example: Rhythmical variations, turning variations and even splitting up and coming back together.

Practical

Teachers: Leo Visser

Duration: Workshop length can vary from 1,5 to 2,5 hours. More time is mostly used for more practice and correction.

Requirements: A sound system where we can plug a laptop in.

Prerequisites for participants: Open for all levels.
