Online Workshops and Courses

Because we can’t always be together due to various reasons we are also experimenting with workshops and courses online. At the moment we can offer a workshop of 2 to 3 hours long about teaching in Balfolk. This workshop will contain some theory about teaching tailored towards dancing. It also contains some exercises for the participants to get more used to the theory. We do want to stress that we don’t have any formal education in this. We have had trainings and lessons in teaching but don’t have any official certification to give teaching lessons.

We also have some video material for several dances in balfolk which we can have a interactive workshop about. This workshop will mostly be about analyzing the video material and seeing how this is different from the ways we dance now. The workshop will also consist of a lot of discussion about the different dances.

Requirements: Participants need to have a computer with internet access (and a web browser) and a microphone and speakers so they can listen and talk.

Prerequisites for participants: Some basic knowledge about balfolk is required and preferbly some experience with giving things like a dance initiation.
